                    Landscape Design

Once you plan to spend all your spare time doing your garden and yard up you will have to have ideas for the landscaping of your surroundings. For this you will have to look at some landscape designs so that you can do yours the same way or alter it a bit to suit your garden area. Now just m owing the lawn and trimming the hedge will not be enough to do with your landscaping, it needs much more to it.

1. Finding designs for landscaping
One way to try and get ideas about your own landscaping is to look around and see what your neighbors have done. This does not mean that you are going to copy their way of doing the landscaping, you can be innovative and do your own thing, but by looking at the others you can put together some thoughts as to what you should do and what you should avoid.

What many people find attractive is putting flowers
in a circular bed around trees. This looks attractive and emphasis the tree too, but you should make sure that the sunlight is enough for the flowers and that the tree does not have too many branches spreading out and blocking off the sunlight. Maybe you could opt for colorful leaves and flowers that do not require too much of direct sunlight; or if the leaves are very thick in the trees and hardly let in any sunlight then you would have to put creepers or greenery that needs almost no sunlight. Whatever you plan you will have to consider all these factors before you plant the shrubs and flowers.

2. Do you want to use mulch
While planning your landscaping you also have to consider whether you want to use mulch. A very popular mulch is the cedar mulch. The attractive red color that it has lightens with the rain and sunlight, but now there is another mulch that is available which lasts much longer, this is a rubber mulch
. So if you want to use mulch in your garden you can opt for any of these.

3. Growing bushes for privacy
It is a good idea to grow bushes and hedges to give you privacy and to make this part of your landscaping. However, what you should remember is that you have to trim the hedges and bushes regularly to give them a neat and even look. If you do not prune them whenever they grow out of shape the hedge will look untidy.

4. Keep the climatic conditions in mind
One of the first things that will matter when planning your landscaping is the climate of the location. You cannot grow plants that are totally averse to the weather conditions in your area. So plan on plants that will thrive in these weather conditions and not those that might wither away. If the climate is of a temperate sort then you have no problem at all as anything will thrive in these conditions and grow well.

If you need more information on gardening you can always ask the customer service representatives at the local nursery or garden. Do some research on this factor and consult experts and you are bound to get the right ideas.
